It will be remembered in fact, until the seventeenth century, more than three hundred bees had been found at Tournai in the tomb of Childeric, father of Clovis.
Bees and their entire organization, their obedience to their queen, seduced Napoleon.

Consul Lebrun did say: "The world of bees is a republic with a chief."
