Sculpteur à l'avant-garde du courant romantique, Antoine-Louis Barye (1795-1875) entretint des relations difficiles avec l'Institut de France mais put compter sur l'admiration de Napoléon III, qui lui passe de nombreuses commandes.
On retrouve ainsi plusieurs de ses oeuvres ornant les différents pavillons du Louvre, et notamment au fronton du pavillon Sully avec Napoléon Ier entouré de l’Histoire et des Beaux-Arts. On lui confie également la réalisation de la statue équestre
de l'empereur qui surmonte le monument à Napoléon et ses frères situé à Ajaccio.
La statue équestre du général Bonaparte reproduite ici date de 1845.

Returns Policy
You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
